Panel two shows an older Jey putting gel on their upper arm with a smile. They’re shirtless but wearing pants and you can see some of their top surgery scars. HRT Diary – 1

HRT Diary – 1 published on No Comments on HRT Diary – 1

I just can’t stay away from autobio comics for long. I did this comic when I started my first dose of testosterone gel!! I thought I’d want to journal about my journey but comics just make more sense.

So I guess Gender Slices has been sort of revived for now, maybe I’ll have enough to do another book, maybe not. Who knows! These diary comics will not have a schedule and will just be as changes happen with some potential related stories floating in-between.

I wrote a bit about my decision to not go on hormones in my comic “Gender Slices” which you can read for free here (or it’s also up on Patreon and in purchasable book & pdf form) but things change, I’m more confident now since more information has come out about low-dosing and the gel.

These pages will be going up 2 months early for Patreon folks

Comic with three panels, done in black and white with halftones. Panel one floats atop a big open panel. Young Jigen is startled and unsure of himself, he says “N-no…” Panel two is a big open panel with no borders or backgrounds, it shows a confident young Lupin with his hands on his hips and his eyes closed. He says “I mean my grandpa is into guys too, you know. So I know what’s up!” Panel three is a big wide panel with Jigen in the center from the waist up. He’s blushing and looking down and to the left with his shoulders by his ears, still a bit tense, but smiling now. He says “Uhh, yeah. Okay. Cool.”

Page 3/3 of this little coming out story I’ve been wanting to draw for a while. Hope you enjoyed it!

Really enjoyed using the halftones for this one, I’ve been wanting to find a way to use them for a long time but couldn’t find a set that matched my lines like I’d like. Maybe I’ll do a longer comic with it at some point!

Comic with four panels, done in black and white with halftones. Panel one shows a young Jigen with his back to the camera and his shoulders tense. He says “So…?” Panel two, a larger panel with a close up shot of his face as he turns around and looks to the right, his expression is pained and there’s a tear in his eye. He yells “Doesn’t that bother you?!” Panel three is a wide panel with young Lupin in the center from the shoulders up. He’s mad as Jigen accuses him. He says “No. Should it?” Panel four is an open panel of the two boys looking at each other from a side view. Jigen is leaning back away, while Lupin leans in closer with a determined and expectant expression.

Page 2/3 of this little short comic about Jigen. It’s an idea I’ve had for a while, even before Zero, but after Zero came out I thought that’d be the perfect way to present the idea.

This page in particular, the dialogue has been floating around in my head for probably well over a year now.

Comic page, 2 panels. Panel 1 shows a young Lupin and Jigen, where Jigen is facing the left and angrily bending himself forward while Lupin is behind him worried and reaching a hand out. Jigen’s yelling “Lupin! I’m gay! …okay?”. Panel 2 shows an open panel with no borders or background, a shoulder up shot of Lupin’s concerned face. Lupin says “So?”

Page 1/3. This’ll be a 3 pager which I’ll be finishing and posting on Tuesdays for y’all until the end of the month! I hope you enjoy some headcanons.

Also testing out TrueGrit’s halftone machine on this comic and… I gotta say y’all, I kinda love it! I’ve been wanting to do more halftone work but haven’t been able to find a look I like or a method that fits well with my workflow.

Comic page, 3 panels. Panel 1 shows a young Jigen looking surprised to the right with a black eye, a speech bubble overlaid on the corner of the panel reading "Fuck your dad." Panel 2 shows a young Lupin angry and looking down to the right while gritting his teeth, a speechbubble reads "What if--" Panel 3 is an open panel with the two boys sitting together on a wall, Lupin is leaning his head down on Jigen's shoulder. Jigen is blushing and his fists are tight on his knees. Lupin is sad and his arms lay limp between his knees. Speechbubble reads "What if I was your family instead?"

Family

Family published on No Comments on Family

Had this idea back in December and it’s been pushed back and back until NOW! It was originally about Lupin with a black eye, but then then the finale of Zero came out and I liked Lupin’s dad way more than I ever expected! So Jigen’s dad is the jerk instead. My intention for “family” here is “we’re married” instead of “we’re brothers”.

Expect some more Zero comics this month, I’ve already posted it for $1+ patrons early but there’s a 3 page Lupin Zero comic coming up for y’all.

Up on a lake I'm sitting on a paddle board with my six year old nephew. As he's staring off into the distance, thinking deeply about something he asks me "Jey, you're not a girl like mommy are you?" I'm clearly excited to be having this conversation with him and respond "No, I'm not a girl but I'm also not a boy like you or your dad." My nephew thinks about this and says "Okay! And you can still be my first-mate right?". I tell him "Of course, Captain!" where I'm beaming with excitement over his response as we paddle on wards!

When I Was Me

When I Was Me published on No Comments on When I Was Me

My one page comic for the “When I Was Me” anthology;

a collection of autobiographical comics about  the joyful and euphoric experiences of being transgender, featuring  stories from trans people with a wide range of gender identities, ages,  and backgrounds! 100% of the team working on When I Was Me fits  under the trans umbrella, from pre-press to artists. With 12 interior  illustrations and over 60 comics, this book is a wonderful reminder that  the trans experience is full of beauty and happiness.
Edited by Eve Greenwood and Alex Assan. Cover art by C. A. P. Ward. Book design by Spire Eaton.

My comic in this book, for the family section, is about a moment I had with one of my niblings at the cottage. The kids in my life are getting a good grasp on what I am and what trans people are, and I am so happy to be that gateway for them.
