I have some family that’s the same way, back when I first cut my hair I had an aunt whose reaction was basically “wow, so is it [deadname] or [masculine equivalent of deadname]? ;)”

….. and on the opposite side of the spectrum, my dad once found a journal I’d labelled “my gay agenda” on the cover (complete with a full rainbow) and believed me when I said “OH yeah it’s my JOY AGENDA, you know, because gay means happy! :D”
