I want to be this bank person in my job. We go by the name on the page in front of us and are instructed not to use pronouns unless it’s required (which given I work with computers, has never been needed yet) – if I need to make a note about something specific in my writing it’s all “the customer, they said” and “their partner’s computer” and “their child’s phone”

I think I have made at least one person very happy by showing them how to correct the name for them and being like “No no, we don’t care what you use. You’ve told me to use [masculine name], that is your name for me now. You identified [feminine name] as being the right account, but you said “can you call me [masculine name] so that’s who you are now!”
