When you misgender a character, ship a gay character as a straight one, or just plain hate on any sort of queer content while dismissing it? That’s a blow to me. I feel that. And it makes me feel like I don’t matter. Let me have my nonbinary character in the media, let me have a gay couple on screen, you have enough!

Exactly why I corrected people misgendering Murderbot on a tv tracking app comments. Idk if any people irl go by “it”, but the point is you listen to what the person/character is telling you and you respect it.
Corona of Soul Eater was my first nb character, but yup! I was kinda mad the subtitles tried to give them a gender, even though the artist specifically said Corona doesn’t have one.
When I was getting into Steven Universe, I was *So Goddamn Happy* about Steveonnie being NB, and canonically using They/Them pronouns, I was finally SEEN in a TV show, Steven Universe came about and effectively said “Some people aren’t men or women, and that is okay, you are okay. It is *okay to be like this. There is nothing wrong with it, or you.*” by their inclusion of canon NB characters.
