afab masc, still get this sometimes. I have a beard but long hair and am kinda ambiguous (somewhat intentionally). I just turn around and say in my lowest voice ‘hello?’. Most people are like ‘oh sorry’ but the jerks are identifiable by trying to blame me for their assumptions. Humans are just dumb sometimes.

It took me a very long time to get to this place though, and to find a name that I really liked. So don’t despair!
