Let yourself try things on. Don’t be afraid to try out a couple different names or pronouns to see which sticks! It can take a while, and it might seem like you’re bothering people, but it’ll all be worth it when you find that combo you’ve been looking for!

When you misgender a character, ship a gay character as a straight one, or just plain hate on any sort of queer content while dismissing it? That’s a blow to me. I feel that. And it makes me feel like I don’t matter. Let me have my nonbinary character in the media, let me have a gay couple on screen, you have enough!

Our last guest comic!! Thanks for sticking with Gender Slices through the hiatus month, it’s been so great to get a buffer going and the website worked on during my time off! A big thank you to all the guest comic artists this time, they’re all so great and helpful! Please send them some love! Regular updates will continue next Tuesday!

Stop pushing your ideas on kids. Stop projecting. Stop forcing kids to do things they aren’t comfortable with. Just stop. Please. Think of the kids’ feelings first.
Real life stuff that happened to me and my childhood best friend. It sucked.
Despite all that I’m still gay. I’m still trans. You can’t force kids to be something they’re not!

And just a reminder that we’ll be going on hiatus throughout the month of May but guest comics will be posted in place of regular updates. Guest comics will go up every Tuesday at 12pmEST and go until May 28th. TopazComics will also be boothing at TCAF this year on May 11-12th. Throwback to January 2017 when I finally found my name~

I was going by J. for a long time and when facebook and other websites wouldn’t let me have just an initial as a first name I switched to my first and middle initial “Je”. I went by Je for a year or so before I found THE ONE! And it was such a good feeling!

Call back to Gender Slices #99 to when I was just getting this started. It feels like so long ago now. Since drawing this everything I needed to change over has been changed, except my passport (which is another $180 so I’ve been putting that one off).

But I’ve done it! And if you’re changing your name over, make a list a head of time of all the accounts you’ll need to change once you have your new birth certificate!
