Wait…. it’s the law? I get misegendered all the time!
There’s a professor at my college that says that when you are writing about “a person” or “one” you can’t use “they/them,” he says you have to use “he or she” or he will take points off. My first thought was “Yo, what if that person doesn’t fit the he/she thing? It’s the future and whatnot!!”
I didn’t know that this was a law, I am so happy to be able to report this jerk professor to the dean! (I probably won’t unless I have him for next semester, but having the power is vindicating!)
uuuuuugh. me too! i had to come out repeatedly at college and i think i had five debates about nb identities/trans identities in general/my gender and pronouns within the first week. it was exhausting and just gave me a harsh reality check. :’)
