We went to Medieval Times.
I know the wait staff is trained to talk like this, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be annoyed by it.
I think in the back of my mind I was really hoping they would say “sir” or “m’lord” but no such luck.

This happened to me recently after I started playing FF14… The setting is medieval. I chose a female character, as I am agender AFAB and usually ok with female shapes, also there is no NB option. They could call me “adventurer”, but they keep using very gendered terms like “milady” and it really bothers me! >_> Modern day speech where I live is not THAT gendered, so usually I’m not bothered, but in that game they use words like these every two sentences… 🙁 My character basically looks like a walking potato, how can they guess any gender at all??
I came out to my parents as transgender not too long ago because was sure I finally found out who I was and what I wanted to identify as, but now I’m not so sure and i think I might be non binary but I’m not so sure. How do you know if you are non binary? I’m sorry if this question offended you in any way. Also I’m not completely sure this question makes the most sense. If you would be comfortable telling me how you discovered your gender identity that would be really helpful. I’m sorry for bothering you I’m just really confused on my identity and happened to run across this comica t the perfect time.
What helped me discover I was nonbinary was reading about other people’s experiences with being nonbinary. I found that I related to many of their experiences, both how they experience gender and their experiences being nonbinary in general. Also, thinking about the future and how I wanted to be perceived and/or what about my gender made me happy helped. Experiment with stating your gender (look in a mirror and say “I am nonbinary” and see how it feels) and with pronouns and gender expression (although the latter two don’t necessarily correlate with gender). I hope that this helped!
Thank you! I’ll try those things and read into some nonbinary experiences. This helps a lot.
