Hi, I am thinking of starting my own zine for charity. How did you go about finding artists and selling these zines. I hope to make at least a small difference with this project, but I am unsure how to go about it.

All I do, and have been doing for the last few years for Swim On is to post an open call for artists and try and get the post to get enough views so a lot of people see it. I start with a simple google form that people fill out and gather artist info that way – then proceed to acceptance emails – then the artists email me in their pieces – then I put the whole thing together in inDesign – then I put the zine up on gumroad. I make sure the artist call out post and the zine being for sale posts are the most prominent posts about the zine – reblog, let your friends know, they let their friends know and it gets around~
